WAYNE LOANE

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Wayne has been at the forefront of product development and innovation for over 20 years. Originally from New Zealand, he moved to Japan when he was just 14 to explore an interest in auto mechanics. This led to a formal mechanical trade qualification in New Zealand in 1990 (recognised in Australia in 2016).

  • Wayne maintained his connection to Japan following a move to Australia in 2002 and began importing trucks and vans. Having identified a gap in the Australian market, he commenced modifying imported vans to provide affordable wheelchair accessible vehicles (which then became an approved ‘vehicle modifications’ provider through the National Disability Insurance Scheme). He was also instrumental in bringing the Japanese-craze of hot and cold canned coffee drink vending machines to Australia, launching Kamikaze Coffee in 2014.

Wayne’s move into waste management kicked off in the late-noughties when he developed and launched Aussie Skip Bags, a recyclable, polypropylene waste disposal bag which can hold the same weight as a commercial metal skip bin.

The rollout of Aussie Skip Bags led him to develop a safer and easier way to dispose of hazardous material, in particular asbestos. In 2011 he launched Hazibag, a flexible intermediate bulk container (IBC) which is UN approved for Packing Groups II and III.

Hazibag was developed to overcome some of the limitations of existing, less practical, non-compliant hazardous waste collection systems such as drums, wheeled bins and cut-off rigid IBCs. It now retails in the UK, New Zealand and Australia.

In 2012, Wayne developed and launched Barrier Sack, a 100% biodegradable sand-less sandbag designed as a safer, more convenient method to prevent flooding and water inundation. He later joined forces with a business partner in 2016 to establish EnviroMaster and bring ARI Global Technologies’ thermochemical conversion technology to Australasia. This patented technology in Australasia will set a worldwide precedent for eradicating the legacy of asbestos waste.

Wayne is passionate about design and technology and has since developed an innovative product to help support the Australian Housing Crisis while opening the door for the need of rapid response emergency housing.

TROY SUANN

CHIEF OF INNOVATION

Troy Suann is our Chief of Innovation, responsible for product development, logistics and fulfilment. Troy brings extensive experience in solving practical problems across multiple disciplines, including Project Management, Business Consulting, IT Management and Retail Operations.

  • During the rollout of the National Broadband Network (NBN) Fixed Wireless in regional NSW, Troy had a pivotal role in project management, solution engineering, and tender writing. He collaborated with several solution providers to ensure that the regional communities had access to fast and dependable internet services.

Troy's ability to innovate was of paramount importance to the success of these projects, as each community presented unique geographical, organisational and technological challenges. Success required the creation of a self-sustaining business model, offering communication asset leasing space to other organisations, in addition to the NBN Fixed Wireless equipment, inside purpose-built pods able to be deployed by helicopter to inaccessible locations. Such projects require extensive collaboration with regional Councils, State and Federal Government Departments, property owners, private utilities organisations, communications engineers and logistics specialists.

During this time Troy gained his qualifications to perform high risk dogging and rigging, as he often found himself 'on the tools' constructing communication towers, inventing solutions to extremely difficult problems.

In Business Consulting, IT Infrastructure Management, and earlier in Retail Operations Management, Troy honed his skills in business process improvement, risk assessment, stakeholder management, stock control and budget management. Troy has shared these very skills with numerous sporting clubs and community groups, serving in various voluntary capacities since the 1990s, and as an innovation consultant to an Australian caravan manufacturer, due to his passion and experiences caravanning around Australia.

Troy can often be heard saying “We can do difficult, it's impossible we struggle with." He'll then typically find a way to do the impossible after all.
